How to spray a house with an airless sprayer

Planning to spray a house with an airless sprayer?

This is our super-fast method for what order to spray a room in.

Here’s our step-by-step guide for spraying a room from start to finish. This is the same method we teach in our Airless & HVLP Spraying Course, and now you can learn it too!

1. Spray Your Walls
  • Start by spraying the walls with one coat of paint.
  • Leave a gap about a foot away from the ceiling and the skirting boards.
  • Trigger the spray gun on and off as you move from top to bottom.

2. Spray Your Ceilings
  • Switch to a continuous trigger for the ceiling.
  • Use a crosshatch technique: spray in one direction, then go back over it in the opposite direction to ensure even coverage. Watch us demonstrate crosshatching on our YouTube channel here

3. Spray Your Woodwork
  • Apply two coats to your woodwork.
  • TOP TIP: Always work from the bottom up. This way, wet paint lands on wet paint, giving you a smoother finish. Watch how to spray skirtings on our YouTube channel here

4. Return the Next Day
  • Cut in your walls and roll on two coats of paint to finish.

In Summary This is our fastest method for spraying a room, saving you both time and money on taping. If you want to dive deeper, join us for our 2-day Airless & HVLP Spraying Course at our Wiltshire training academy, or check out our Online Interior Spraying Course for more tips and tricks.
